FLANDERS, N.J. (PIX11) -- At least 40 dogs at Eleventh Hour Rescue, a nonprofit animal rescue facility in Flanders, are searching for their forever homes.
Since its founding 20 years ago, the facility has found homes for 50,000 dogs, cats, and even rabbits.
"We have partnered with rescue facilities in Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia. They come up here each week. Hopefully, we have an adopter or foster waiting," said Kathy Dolce of Eleventh Hour Rescue.
The animals are kept well during their stay, as their individual cages highlight their likes, dislikes, and their temperament, so volunteers who handle them know what to expect.
"We have a large group of volunteers. They are committed to getting dogs enrichment every day."
There are 275 volunteers who walk the dogs and play with them on t
