Appalachian Power Company representatives are upgrading the transmission system in Amherst and Bedford counties and the city of Lynchburg and are hosting an open house to gather input from the community.
The Abert-Reusens Transmission Improvements Project involves rebuilding five miles of 69-kilovolt transmission line in or near the existing right-of-way and associated upgrades to the Abert Substation.
APCo representatives invite community members and landowners in the project area to learn more and provide input to the project team by attending an in-person open house, a news release states.
