Progress and investment will bring the Binational Economic Zone to the border, according to the governor of Táchira state, Freddy Bernal.
Bernal explained that the memorandum of understanding between the two countries has already been signed, allowing for the beginning of the political framework for its formation. "Thanks to the three-year coordination between the presidents of Venezuela and Colombia, Nicolás Maduro and Gustavo Petro, it is possible that there will be a meeting of border governors next September within the framework of the Binational Border Economic Zone."
The Economic Zone could comprise three lines of action: the national executive branch, coordinated by Presidents Petro and Maduro for all bilateral action; the regional branch; and the commercial business branch, where
