BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (PIX 11) — Community members and lawmakers came together for a town hall in Bushwick Wednesday, calling on the state to step up protections for vulnerable residents at risk of losing healthcare and vital services — as well as tackling growing concerns about ICE enforcement.

The meeting follows the passage of the Trump administration’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which became law earlier this month.

Immigration advocates with the organization Make the Road New York said the sweeping federal legislation could result in more than a million New Yorkers losing access to healthcare coverage and other essential services.
