BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- Brownsville, Brooklyn, marked a big milestone Thursday as community members gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 326 Rockaway Avenue.

The event celebrated the official opening of a new affordable housing development designed to bring stability and inspiration to hundreds of local families.

Leaders and neighbors joined representatives from Slate Property Group, RiseBoro Community Partnership, and Goldman Sachs, the partners who made the project possible. The 216-unit building, known for its all-electric design and energy efficiency as a Passive House, was built with the community’s needs at its heart.
