CHICAGO (WGN) — Authorities are searching for answers after a woman was critically injured in a run crash in the parking lot of a Southwest Side business on Wednesday afternoon.
Chicago police said the incident unfolded just before 1:30 p.m. in a parking lot in the 3000 block of West 26th Street in Little Village.
According to police, the victim, a 69-year-old woman, was in the parking lot when she was struck by an unknown vehicle that officers said was traveling at a high rate of speed.
Following the crash, officers said the driver involved fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The woman suffered a skull fracture and injuries to her back in the crash and was later hospitalized in critical condition.
