NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A juvenile was arrested Wednesday after he was found carrying an AR-style pistol, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

An officer said they saw the juvenile walking slowly into a store while clutching his waistband with both hands and swaying side-to-side “in a manner consistent with concealing a firearm.”

Officers approached the juvenile and asked his age after he purchased a drink; however, when they attempted to detain him, they say he began resisting, pushing, and pulling away while reaching for his waistband.
