When Briana Morford stepped away from her career in special education, she did not walk far.
She simply moved from the classroom into community spaces, where she now uses movement, breathwork and emotional awareness to help clients of all ages and abilities regulate their bodies and minds through her Gilbert-based business, EmpowerMe AZ.
“I like to refer to it more as ‘mindful movement’ rather than just adaptive yoga,” Morford, 32, said. “Sometimes yoga has this connotation that it's super zen and still, and that doesn't always align with the population that I serve.”
