POTOMAC, Md. (DC News Now) – People who live near Bradley Boulevard and Mercy Hollow Lane said it’s not unusual to see flooding in the area.

Thursday was a little bit different, though, as they watched emergency crews pull several people out of the water; that included some children.

People who live near Bradley Boulevard in Potomac are no strangers to the effects of heavy rain.

“The street gets flooded,” Daniel Bortz said. “Sometimes we can’t even get out because it covers the whole entrance to our neighborhood, and it happens fairly quickly.”

Bortz said that was the case Thursday.

“I could see that it was starting to flood, then it kept raining, and it didn’t stop, and it just kept getting worse," she said.
