An investigation is underway after an ultra-light aircraft crashed into a pond in Griswold on Sunday morning.

Troopers responded to Ashland Pond around 8:30 a.m. for a report of an ultra-light aircraft that had crashed into the water.

No injuries were reported.

The Connecticut Airport Authority, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Federal Aviation Administration have been notified.

According to DEEP, there was only three gallons of fuel on board and there was no fuel released. The fuel container has been safely removed from the water.
