ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - An engine with the St. Louis Fire Department was hit by a car while helping with a previous crash Sunday.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), first responders were at a car crash on Interstate 44 near Jamieson Sunday morning, when another crash occurred.
Police say a car traveling on Interstate 44 failed to slow down or move over for first responders at the scene and struck the back end of a city fire truck.
A spokesperson for SLMPD said that only minor injuries occurred, and they are thankful it wasn’t worse.
