PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Whether you are camping or eating s'mores in the backyard with the family, the Illinois State Fire Marshal is reminding people how to avoid starting wildfires.

The following is a list provided by the fire marshal to prevent fires, according to a post on their Facebook page: • Don't leave a campfire unattended • Don't burn dangerous things like aerosol cans, pressurized containers, glass or aluminum cans • Don't leave coals until they're doused and stirred until cold • Don't let your tow chains drag • Don't park over tall dry grass
