A man was attacked with a "blunt object" outside a Kent nightclub in the early hours of the morning. The man needed hospital after the incident outside Clique Bar on Harbour Parade.

Kent Police said the victim was involved in an altercation outside the bar at 1.48am on Saturday (August 2). Police said he didn't know his attacker.

The suspect left the scene before patrols had attended. The victim needed hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

Police said in an appeal for information: "Officers have carried out a number of lines of enquiry, including house-to-house enquiries and an in-depth review of all available CCTV footage.

"Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the altercation or who may have information about the incident.
