DETROIT — The Minnesota Twins placed right-handed pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson on the 15-day injured list Monday and recalled a journeyman reliever to fill out the 26-man active roster.

According to the team's news release, Woods Richardson has made 16 starts for the Twins this season, going 5-4 with a 4.24 ERA, 35 walks, 69 strikeouts, a 1.40 WHIP and a .252 opponent batting average.

Meanwhile, the Twins summoned right-handed pitcher Darren McCaughan from the Triple-A St. Paul Saints. McCaughan returns to the club after appearing in three games for the Twins from March 31-April 7, in which he allowed one run on five hits in 5.1 innings pitched, with one walk and six strikeouts.
