EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - With the school year starting back up, the Evansville Police Department is reminding parents and children to monitor what they consume online.

Another summer break has come and gone and kids throughout Evansville are heading back to school.

But with kids out of the house and at school all day, it means more unsupervised time on electronic devices.

EPD sent out a reminder to parents that since so much schooling is now done online, child predators have a greater capability of reaching your kids.

EPD attributes most of their advice to the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children, or the NCMEC, which says predators will try to contact children using social media, games, and messaging apps.
