BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Earlier today, people had the chance to help students in the Bismarck/Mandan area by donating school supplies.
After 28 successful years, the Fill the Bus event returned for its 29th year of supporting public schools in Bismarck, Mandan, and surrounding communities. People stopped by at any of the four Cenex locations in the capital city to donate school supplies or cash to help fill the bus.
"If families are in need of school supplies, they can call their school that their child is attending and ask for the school social worker and they will connect them in getting the supplies, either before school starts or the day of school starting," said Sherrice Roness, Students in Transition coordinator for Bismarck Public Schools.
The event ran today, August 4 until 6 p.m
