WILLISTON, ND (KXNET) — A woman in Williston is facing a C-level felony for animal cruelty after a dog was found in her home with a severe injury to its leg.

According to the Williston Police Department, on July 29 at about 10:20 p.m., officers responded to the home of Melberta Lynn Solano for a report of a dispute. They were told Solano has a dog in the home that was in need of immediate veterinary attention, but that Solano was allegedly refusing to care for.

Officers entered the home and found the dog, which they say had a severe injury to its leg and that its fur was extremely matted.
