Three people were seriously hurt Monday when a vehicle rolled over on Interstate 89 in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.

State police said troopers responded to the crash near Mile Marker 9.4 around 3:25 p.m. A Toyota Matrix was found on its side, entangled with a Volkswagen Golf in a wooded median area.

Trees fell on both vehicles, police said, making it more difficult to free the people trapped inside.

Three people who were inside the Matrix were hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver and only occupant of the Golf was also brought to a hospital to be evaluated as a precaution.
