Nelson County Public Schools recently announced the appointment of Hannah Collins as new principal at Nelson Middle School.

Collins earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from James Madison University and an endorsement in administration and supervision from the University of Virginia, according to NCPS’s announcement on its Facebook page. She served as an upper elementary teacher and math/reading interventionist in Fairfax and Albemarle counties for nine years.

In her first administrative experience, Collins served as an elementary assistant principal in Fairfax County for five years before returning home to Scottsville to be closer to family. Most recently, she served as an assistant principal at Fluvanna Middle School for three years.
