SPENCER (KTIV) - In their regular council meeting, the city of Spencer updated citizens on the recovery status after last week’s Derecho.

Phase one of debris cleanup is complete. That means that all debris causing a public concern, and debris left in the right of way have been removed.

Phase two of recovery has now begun. In this phase, trees and stumps in the right of way or public property will be identified and removed. Tree grinding will also begin at the North tree drop off site.

The city anticipates this phase will continue for two to three weeks.

The City of Spencer also offered an update on recovery following last summer’s historic flooding.
