CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) -- The city of Conway took a step forward in flood prevention by approving the installation of new water-level sensors in flood-prone areas, a spokesperson said Tuesday.
The sensors will include the Waccamaw River at the River Walk, Kingston Lake at the railroad trestle, Crabtree Swamp at N. Main Street, and Church Street and El Bethel.
"There will be a public dashboard available to the community to assist with making informed decisions about water levels that become dangerous," city spokesperson June Wood told News13. "The sensors will provide a tremendous benefit to City staff when making decisions and informing the community about dangerous flooding on our waterways in Conway."
