CARTHAGE, Mo. — After holding a public meeting and hearing an hour’s worth of testimony, the four-member Carthage Personnel Board upheld the Carthage City Council’s June 24 decision to fire Carthage Parks and Recreation Department Director Abi Almandinger.

“After careful consideration of the information and testimony presented by both you and the city, the Personnel Board has determined to uphold the city’s decision to terminate your employment,” the board said in a letter to Almandinger released after Thursday's hearing. “The decision is final and concludes the appeal process under the provisions of the Charter. We recognize that this was a serious and difficult matter and we appreciate your participation in the process.” ×
