EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. — Valley Corn Maize near East Grand Forks, Minnesota, wanted to do something different to celebrate its 10th anniversary this season. Matthew Krueger and his family were thinking of something big — something bigger than anyone has thought of, perhaps.

The result is what Valley Corn Maize claims to be the world’s largest standing corn maze, one that includes five levels and expands 121 acres — a space larger than 91 football fields.

“This has been a dream of mine for the last couple of years. I’ve always said ‘It would be cool to have the world’s largest corn maze,’” Krueger said.

Research done by Krueger led him to believe the current record was held at a 110-acre corn maze in Stoney Brook, Minnesota. Guinness World Records currently holds the record in La Pocati
