INDIANAPOLIS (WPTA) - Governor Mike Braun announced on Tuesday that Vice President JD Vance will be visiting Indianapolis on Thursday, Aug. 7.

Gov. Braun announced the vice president’s visit during a press conference on Tuesday, WTHR reports. He is expected to discuss redistricting in Indiana, among other topics.

Braun said if redistricting in Indiana is brought up, it would be “exploratory”, WTHR reports.

Indiana has nine congressional seats, seven of which are held by Republicans.

Political publication Punchbowl News reported on Tuesday that multiple sources familiar with the plans say Vance is expected to speak with State leaders about redrawing the state’s congressional map.

“Republicans believe they could easily redraw Rep. Frank Mrvan (D-Ind.) out of his northwestern district.
