PATERSON - A 19-year-old man from Newark was hospitalized Monday night after a shooting in Paterson, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-in-Charge Patrick Murray.

According to a statement, officers responded to the area of Park Avenue and Summer Street at approximately 10:39 p.m. on August 4 for a report of shots fired.

Police discovered the teenage victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries that were described as non-fatal.

Authorities also confirmed that officers located a potential crime scene in the area.
