RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A request from Wake County to finance $704 million towards new projects, including a new high school, was approved by the state Tuesday, officials said.
The Local Government Commission approved the county's request for $704 million in limited bond anticipation notes during its monthly meeting, according to the North Carolina Department of the State Treasurer.
The department said Wake County will use most of the financing to construct a new campus that will be named Morrisville High School. It will also be used to rebuild Brentwood Elementary School and renovate North Garner Middle School. The projects are currently in their bidding and engineer estimate phases.
Wake County does not anticipate a tax increase from the new debt, according to the treasurer's departmen
