A man was arrested Tuesday at the airport in West Palm Beach after he was found with a loaded AR-15, authorities said.
Palm Beach International Airport authorities contacted deputies about 7 a.m. to report a man who was acting “suspicious” outside of a car parked in a restricted area, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies found Michael Rodrigues, 41, standing outside of his rental car. A fully loaded AR-15 magazine was found inside the car’s glove compartment when deputies opened it to look at the rental agreement, the Sheriff’s Office said. They searched the car and found a fully loaded AR-15 rifle and knives hidden under a blanket on one of the seats inside.
Rodrigues was detained at the airport and taken to be interviewed by detectives. Video shared
