PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Tuesday night's rain chances will put an end to the weeks-long stretch of rain-free skies.
A mid-summer front will swing through western Oregon and southwest Washington Tuesday night and last through much of the day Wednesday. Cooler temperatures will come with an increase in clouds and the chance of rain that will have an impact through Thursday.
The last measurable rainfall seen in Portland was on July 21, 2025. Portland saw a total of 0.33 inches of rain in July, leaving the Rose City with a rain deficit of 0.18 inches.
The first few raindrops will start along the coast as early as 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Rain showers will move east through the overnight hours. That will give Portland the chance to see the first few raindrops from about 1 a.m. to 7 a.
