Portland Public Schools plans to wade further into the use of artificial intelligence in the classroom during the upcoming school year by piloting an AI literacy platform backed by former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Superintendent Kimberlee Armstrong told The Oregonian/OregonLive this week.
Kaepernick is best known for protesting against police brutality and racial injustice by taking a knee during the national anthem before his games with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016. He opted out of his contract with the 49ers at the end of that season but wasn’t signed by another team during free agency despite his impressive record, which was widely seen as payback for his outspokenness.
