GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Sheriff Hobart Lewis is expected to say exactly what happened inside a training exercise that left two deputies hurt.

On July 29, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said the deputies were shot at an empty building off of Wade Hampton Boulevard. The pair was rushed to the hospital for surgery and we’re told they are recovering well.

The sheriff’s press conference is set for 10 a.m.

Officials have not made any comments about the incident up to this point but FOX Carolina will be inside the room asking questions like why were the live rounds being used and how do they plan to make sure an incident like this doesn’t happen again.
