SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Some residents woke up to excess rainwater and tree damage on Wednesday morning.

A tree appears to have been struck by lightning on 5200 Stone Avenue, according to a resident and neighbor.

“I heard a big boom, feel like firecrackers and it was that is what I heard this morning,” Neighbor Jeri Carlson said.

Homeowners on Hidden View Drive stepped outside to see more rainwater than usual at the end of their driveway, where it was not draining properly.

One resident told KTIV News 4 that these problems have occurred before due to poor drainage in the area.
