COLUMBIA — Ken Rice said he hopes to work with the Columbia Office of Violence Prevention following an unsuccessful run for the Second Ward seat on City Council.
Rice lost to Vera Elwood for the open Second Ward seat in a special election Tuesday. Rice carried the endorsement of Lisa Meyer , who most recently held the seat, as well as the Rev. James Grey, Missouri Rep. John Martin and former Columbia mayoral candidates Randy Minchew and Tanya Heath.
Rice received about 43% of the vote .
"I feel fine. You know, win or lose, you know, I know we did a good race," Rice told KOMU 8 at his watch party at Sports Zone at Wyndham Hotel in Columbia Tuesday night. "We put in our efforts. We worked hard towards it. We resonated with a lot of the people in there. Yeah, we lost, but you know,
