Prattville police have charged a man with physically abusing his two-year-old son.

Police say Mario Ronell Ford-Johnson is charged with aggravated child abuse. He is being held in the Autauga County Metro Jail without bond, pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

Police say on Friday, August 1, they and the fire department were called to the 300 block of Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive. That’s where they say they found the boy, who was taken to Children’s Hospital at UAB in Birmingham for treatment of serious injuries.

Police say Ford-Johnson intentionally inflicted serious physical injury on his son. He was located a short time later and arrested.
