CORNELIUS, N.C. — A 24-year-old Cornelius man faces 10 felony charges after police said they found evidence of child sexual abuse material during a search of his home.
Elias Daniel Mongelos Frutos turned himself in on Tuesday and was held on $75,000 secured bond at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, according to the Cornelius Police Department.
The charges stem from a July 17 search warrant executed by detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Police said the search followed a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding internet activity linked to child sexual abuse material.
