BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A 36-year-old MTA employee was attacked inside a Brooklyn subway station on July 18, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 12:45 p.m. inside the Avenue U train station.

Police say an unidentified individual approached the victim, asking for directions. The suspect then hit the victim in the face multiple times before fleeing the subway station.

EMS transported the victim to a local hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black balaclava face mask, black t-shirt, black pants, and black sneakers, police say. The NYPD released the following surveillance photos of the suspect.
