On Thursday, July 31, a Barrington resident who serves on the Butler Hospital board of directors told Barrington Police that someone had been putting flyers on her neighbors’ cars and on telephone poles that allegedly encourage people to harass her.
The flyers are related to the current workers union strike taking place at Butler Hospital. Police said they also located flyers in the Barrington Shopping Center.
Police are increasing patrols around the homes of local residents who either work at Butler or serve on the board there. Police said there is a local ordinance prohibiting picketing around residential property in Barrington. Police said the ordinance was tested years ago and proved to be a good law.
