MERCER COUNTY, Pa. (WKBN) -- With recent reports from Poland and Youngstown, Ohio, the West Nile virus has now been detected again in Mercer County mosquitoes, according to a Mercer County Conservation District press release.
This latest mosquito sample with detected West Nile virus comes from the Grove City borough, marking the second positive test for Mercy County in 2025.
Additional monitoring will be done in the area where these mosquito samples were collected and appropriate control work will be conducted, according to the press release.
The press release also states that there are no current human cases of West Nile virus reported in Mercer County.
The Mercer County Conservation District encourages Grove City businesses and residents to take extra precautions by applying insect r
