PORTLAND, Ore. — Several red light and speed cameras across Portland have disappeared in recent days, but the Portland Bureau of Transportation confirmed Monday that nothing nefarious is going on this time — the cameras are all set to be replaced in the coming weeks with units obtained through a new vendor.

The new contract will make NovoaGlobal the city's sole supplier, including replacing all 15 speed cameras, 17 combination speed and red-light cameras and two police mobile speed enforcement vans that comprise Portland's current network. The replacement work will be completed by November, according to a news release from PBOT.

Cameras will also be added at three new sites during the replacement process: one at Southeast Powell Boulevard at 34th Avenue and two on Northeast 82nd Avenue
