CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Two people involved in an apparently random attempted robbery and shooting in Charlotte last month sat down with WBTV this week to describe what happened.

Detectives with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department were working to identify the person responsible for a shooting that happened in Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood in the early morning on Saturday, July 26.

Two couples were walking down Mercury Street when a man tried to rob the group, according to police. Friends Ansley Icy and Bryan Martinez described what happened in an interview with WBTV on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
