FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (PIX11) — A woman is accused of punching and kicking someone in the face, and locking them in a room against their will, according to police.

Officers were called to a Farmingdale residence on Eastern Parkway for a report of a friend being held against their will just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police found a woman, 28, with visible injuries and 42-year-old Shawnequa Polite when they arrived at the scene. According to detectives, Polite was temporarily staying at the woman's apartment when they got into an argument over money.

The screaming match escalated, and Polite allegedly punched the woman in the face. As she tried to get away, Polite then kicked her in the face and locked her in a room. The woman was eventually able to call her friend for help.
