RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) - As we near 80 years since the end of World War II, nonprofit Honor Flight Bluegrass wants to honor local veterans with a free half-hour flight on historic B-25 bomber Miss Mitchell.
It’s part of the organization’s barnstorming tour in Louisville and Russellville, sponsored by the Kentucky Veterans Program Trust Fund.
Honor Flight Bluegrass Chairman Jeff Thoke said there are still two more spaces on the flight taking off out of the Russellville-Logan County Airport on Sunday at 10 a.m.
“Don’t hesitate, don’t be afraid, it’s a great ride, it’s free,” he said. “We owe you everything. You deserve the right to fly in this World War II airplane; we don’t know how many more years we’ll do this.”
