PHOENIX (AZFamily) — United Airlines says nationwide ground stop is over after a tech issue caused a headache for travelers Wednesday evening.

In a statement to CBS News’ transportation reporter Kris Van Cleave, the airline blamed a technology issue that is prompting them to hold departures.

The airline told impacted passengers on X, formerly Twitter: “We are experiencing a system-wide outage affecting many departures, and our teams are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated and we sincerely apologize.”

United Airlines said in a statement to the media that it expects additional flight delays throughout the evening. About 15 flights were experiencing delays at Phoenix Sky Harbor as of 7:30 p.m.

No other information has been released.
