NORTH CHARLESTON — Charleston International will be among the first U.S. airports to add a dedicated family lane at its security checkpoint starting next week.
The federal Transportation Security Administration is rolling out the new initiative on Aug, 12 to make it easier for parents traveling with children to get through the screening process.
"Family on the Fly" is being introduced at select locations.
For now, CHS will be the only South Carolina airport included in the launch.
The goal is to allow families to stay together during security screening while reducing the backlog in the other lines.
