A motorcyclist has tragically died following a crash on a major Cheshire road.

Emergency services raced out to the A525 Whitchurch Road in Audlem, near Nantwich, on Wednesday morning (August 6).

Cheshire Police says officers were called out to reports of a collision close to the junction with Rookery Lane at 8.17am.

The crash involved a white Vauxhall van and a black Moto Morini Corsaro motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 42-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, Cheshire Police says.
