Tropical Storm Henriette continued moving west-northwest early today over the Central East Pacific, far from land but expected to pass north of Hawaii in the coming days.

As of 5 a.m. today, the National Hurricane Center said Henriette was located about 1,841 miles east of Honolulu, with maximum sustained winds near 50 mph and higher gusts. The storm was moving west at about 15 mph.

Forecasters expect Henriette to maintain its general west-northwest motion for several days at a slightly slower forward speed. A slight weakening is possible today or Thursday, but little overall change in strength is forecast for the rest of the week.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles from Henriette’s center. No coastal watches or warnings are in effect.
