CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. —
Five fatal overdoses and 22 nonfatal overdoses in just six days in one South Carolina county has prompted authorities to place a free Narcan stand in the area where the overdoses are happening.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office said at least 13 of those incidents happened near Ashley Phosphate Road and Rivers Avenue in North Charleston.
The sheriff's office said the management at the Econo Lodge, which is in this area, has partnered with them to host a Naloxone Stand to help saturate the area with lifesaving Narcan.
They said the move is not due to a spike in overdose incidents at the Econo Lodge, but this location is close to the area where the spike has occurred
