IONIA COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - Deputies from the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning that left one driver with life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on M-66 near Woods Rd in Orleans Township.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 68-year-old woman from Fenwick was stopped in a Toyota Camry, facing southbound on M-66, as she waited to turn into a gas station.

She was rear-ended by a 24-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Impala, who hit her car at high speed.

The Camry driver sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The occupants of the Impala suffered only minor injuries.
