PINE BLUFF, Ark. — On August 6, Pine Bluff police made an arrest after a shooting altercation between two men near West 29th Avenue.

According to reports, officers responded to the intersection of West 28th Avenue and Cedar Street, where they found 34-year-old victim Darren Brock.

Brock said he had been shot with a sawed-off shotgun by a man, later identified as 42-year-old Derrick Bryant, during a dispute outside a residence near the Stitch & Clean on West 30th Avenue.

Officers observed multiple puncture wounds on Brock consistent with birdshot injuries. During the investigation, officers also discovered an unloaded 9mm handgun in his waistband.

At first, Brock denied being armed, but later claimed he had taken the weapon from Bryant during a struggle.
