SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A Springfield man is under arrest after being found with an illegal gun during a traffic stop last week.

It happened on Maple Street shortly before 6 p.m. last Thursday. Officers stopped the car because it didn’t have its headlights on during the rain. They then discovered the car’s registration was revoked.

The driver, 28-year-old Luis Ortiz of Springfield, also didn’t have a license. During a search, officers found a loaded gun and arrested Ortiz, who is now facing various gun and motor vehicle-related charges.
