LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Louisville Police are investigating after a shots-fired call Thursday morning brought them near a school bus stop.

Officers responded to the call shortly after 8 a.m. of shots fired between the 900 and 1100 block of West Chestnut Street. They arrived and found no victim and learned that a man fired a gun in the 1000 block of W. Chestnut before running away.

At the time of the incident, children were at a nearby bus stop awaiting to go to school on JCPS’ first day of classes. LMPD said that their initial investigation did not determine the children to be the target of the gun shots, but that several of them did hear the shots.

LMPD is asking that anybody with information on this incident call the anonymous crime tipline at 502-574-LMPD.
